COMMUNITY INTERGROUP/INTERETHNIC CONFLICT RESOLUTION

Though there are best practices entries in this group, one of the problems is that existing organizations generally do not have set procedures for responding to community intergroup/interethnic conflicts and often work intuitively in each situation.  It is partially for this reason that CAHRO is seeking to establish training in this field.  Below  are some resources that can provide advice and technical assistance on this matter.

United States Justice Department Community Relations Service (CRS)  This organization responds to racial and religious community conflicts and conflicts between communities and their law enforcement agency.  They will conduct fact finding, and seek to resolve conflicts through mediation when appropriate.  There are currently only four representatives serving the Western States.
