Study Announcement:  Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction at Lesley College

Lesley College in Cambridge, Massachusetts in collaboration with the nationally recognized Resolving Conflict Creatively Program (please see this month's article on RCCP), an initiative of Educators for Social Responsibility is excited to announce the first graduate degree program to combine teacher education with school-based practice in conflict resolution and peacemaking.  This long distance Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on conflict resolution and peaceable schools is the first of its kind to be offered for those not only interested in teaching today's youth, but also those dedicated to creating a peaceful environment in which students can learn to the best of their abilities.

The Master's Degree is designed to:  develop national leadership to implement peaceable classrooms in schools across the country; advance the fields of conflict resolution, diversity education and social and emotional learning; and make a significant contribution to teacher education nationally.

It is a 35 credit program designed for working professionals as well as pre-service teachers and administrators, which currently can be completed in I8 months.  An 18-credit Certificate in Conflict Resolution is also available.  The internship, a dynamic part of the program, will provide rich experience in teaching, curriculum design and staff development and can be completed at local California school sites.  For further information about the program please call Mara Gross at 1-800-881-7549.
